Scot and I entered this year with the intent to reach out and do more good this year. Each month, we choose a different place to donate $$$. This month, we are seeking a dog rescue that focuses on older dogs; we are always heartbroken by the elderly dogs in the shelters -- dogs who likely gave so much love during all their years, only to find themselves abandoned. While I'm sure for some there are extreme and perhaps understandable circumstances, I know all too well that for many, it's simple human lack of responsibility and selfishness. I only hope that if there is a hell, there's a special ring of suffering set aside for those who would abandon an old friend to the frightening hell that is a shelter for an older dog.
Their chances of getting that second chance are slim, and most will not leave the shelter alive.
Anyone have any suggestions?
